Current focus:
To directly supply the Royal Victoria Teaching Hospital (RVTH) with medical supplies and equipment, service vehicles, bio-medical support and a modern VSAT communications system.
We support the RVTH aim to provide the most comprehensive health care for the Gambian population. We are especially interested in supporting the University of The Gambia Medical School that works closely within the RVTH.
African Truck Drive (ATD) volunteers will drive a Bedford MJ, hopefully loaded with a Land Rover Ambulance overland to Banjul, West Africa with a Feb. 1, 2006 UK departure date. We would like your help and value your input and ideas to help us accomplish this goal. This truck will be a vital asset to the Royal Victoria Teaching Hospital in The Gambia who are desperately under funded and as yet have no service vehicle for building work and the transport of medical supplies!
 We are working on a fall & winter fundraising campaign to raise public awareness at a number of UK events. If you would like to support and assist this grass roots effort please contact us for further information.
This is the first leg of a long term project to help the hospital with many of its urgent requirements.
